Love hurts. Have you felt that way before? Have you felt so much love for another that you have given until it hurts? Despite how you feel, despite whether or not it is acknowledged or appreciated, despite being emotionally attacked-you give and you give. Through all your motives are purified. For who would continue to give to his or her own hurt except for the internal satisfaction of being that which God desires, or the inability to escape bondage.
Regardless, the idea that love hurts and feels good is an impossible mental construct. Our minds cannot attend to two opposing thoughts at the same time. We will either enjoy the one or hate the other. It presents a "stop and go" experience. Up one minute, down the next. In one minute out the next. Connected one minute and disconnected the next. It is a rollercoaster. This would shake up the most settled stomach.
